Advisory and Consulting
Strategy. Planning. Market Access.

Forty years building businesses, creating markets, and helping organisations work out where they are going. Then helping them get there.

From Sydney boardrooms to Jakarta ministerial offices. Sulawesi jungles to Seoul's Gangnam. Outback sheep stations to algae farms in Queensland and catchment rehydration and regen farming near the ACT.

About

A career at the interface of industry, government and international markets.

The defining decade is nine years as Global Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at Australian Wool Innovation and The Woolmark Company. Programmes worth $70 million per annum across ten markets. Teams of more than one hundred. Working alongside DAFF, DFAT and Austrade on market access into Europe, Japan, China, the United States and the Middle East.

Australian wool was repositioned from a failing commodity into a luxury and performance fibre. Grower returns moved from $7 to $21 per kilogram. The contribution to the Australian economy reached $3 billion a year. The Woolmark was rebuilt across more than eighty global brand partnerships, including Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Loro Piana. HM King Charles' Campaign for Wool was founded under Royal patronage. The International Woolmark Prize became one of the top three global fashion events.

Before AWI, five years as CEO of Euro RSCG (Havas) Jakarta. The business grew from $5 million to $43 million in revenue, with more than 1,200 staff across Indonesia and ASEAN, working with banks, state-owned enterprises, tourism and foreign investment boards, ministers and presidents. Indonesia provided something hard to replicate. A working understanding of how business, government and culture interact across Asia. Conversational Indonesian. Government relationships in Jakarta spanning twenty-five years.

Earlier work spans Nestlé, Unilever, Coca-Cola, De Beers, Citibank, IBM, Danone, Reckitt Benckiser, Pernod Ricard and LVMH, alongside engagements with McKinsey, Oliver Wyman and BCG. The work has spanned four decades, six continents and most categories that matter.

Today the practice is fractional and interim C-suite advisory. Current mandates include Mulloon Institute, one of five UN-recognised global leaders in regenerative agriculture; SpinalCure Australia; the strategic framework for a EUR 16 billion Kuwait and Indonesia integrated refinery; and advisory to Service NSW, Parramatta City Council and Southern Cross AI – Australia's first Sovereign AI. Earlier contributions include BigTinCan reaching US$600 million in revenue across 61 countries before its 2025 acquisition, and Lyre's growing from a Leichhardt start-up to the number one global non-alcoholic spirits brand in 62 countries.

GAICD. MBA. Trained in the JWT planning tradition under Stephen King, Judy Lannon and Rena Bartos. Fluent in modern AI tools and their commercial application.

Capabilities

What I do.

Strategy

Three to five-year strategic plans, growth strategies, business plans and operating models. Built on tier-one consulting methodology. Written to be executed, not to sit on a shelf.

Market Access

Entry, expansion and consolidation into Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. Trade-mission preparation, government and embassy engagement, distributor selection. The relationships in markets where culture is the gating factor.

Advisory and Consulting

Fractional and interim C-suite roles. Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Acting CEO. Board observer engagements. Counsel to chairs and founders through inflection moments.

Brand and Marketing

Brand architecture, positioning and the marketing programmes that follow. The discipline of the JWT planning tradition. Comfortable with the modern channel mix and the AI tooling now reshaping it.

Acquisition Advisory

Buy-side due diligence, integration planning and post-merger relaunch. Currently lead advisor on a private VC mandate across food, supplements and wellness in Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne.

Stakeholder and Government Relations

Issues management, public-policy engagement and ministerial relations across Australia and South-East Asia. Working relationships across NSW Government, Federal portfolios, Indonesian Ministries and Kuwaiti principals.
