About

A career at the interface of industry, government and international markets.

The defining decade is nine years as Global Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at Australian Wool Innovation and The Woolmark Company. Programmes worth $70 million per annum across ten markets. Teams of more than one hundred. Working alongside DAFF, DFAT and Austrade on market access into Europe, Japan, China, the United States and the Middle East.

Australian wool was repositioned from a failing commodity into a luxury and performance fibre. Grower returns moved from $7 to $21 per kilogram. The contribution to the Australian economy reached $3 billion a year. The Woolmark was rebuilt across more than eighty global brand partnerships, including Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Loro Piana. HM King Charles III's Campaign for Wool was founded under Royal patronage. The International Woolmark Prize became one of the top three global fashion events.

Before AWI, five years as CEO of Euro RSCG (Havas) Jakarta. The business grew from $5 million to $43 million in revenue, with more than 1,200 staff across Indonesia and ASEAN, working with banks, state-owned enterprises, tourism and foreign investment boards, ministers and presidents. Indonesia provided something hard to replicate. A working understanding of how business, government and culture interact across Asia. Conversational Indonesian. Government relationships in Jakarta spanning twenty-five years.

Earlier work spans Nestlé, Unilever, Coca-Cola, De Beers, Citibank, IBM, Danone, Reckitt Benckiser, Pernod Ricard and LVMH, alongside engagements with McKinsey, Oliver Wyman and BCG. The work has spanned four decades, six continents and most categories that matter.
